Craig Hindes, President of Scott Meats, Inc. has strong connections to the City of Muskegon Heights. His parents, Jim and Adeline Hindes, raised their family on 7th St. in Muskegon Heights; this is where Craig grew up. As a teenager he landed his first job working at Lakes Grocery Store on Summit Avenue. He began his career in retail as a stock boy at the age of 15. Craig then went to work at K.J. Scott Meats on Broadway Avenue as a sales clerk, helping customers with their meat selections. He was then trained as a butcher while working at K.J. Scott Meats. In 1983 he bought the business and has developed it into a landmark in Muskegon Heights.
Craig married Ann LaPres-Hindes in 1985. Ann has been the secretary and bookkeeper for the business for the past 30 years. Craig and Ann have four children- Madison, James, Sydney and Kailey. They have all helped grow the business by working alongside other valuable team members. The diverse mix of associates has created a unique culture at Scott Meats which is evident in the excellent customer service. It is truly a family business with each member of the team making it a success.
